Hi Antonella,
I`m really happy you will go to Exeter. Every time that`s a new experience, you can meet new people and learn something. As Peter is so small I can`t go anywhere, that`s obvious. I really envy you ;) (I`m joking of course).
Actually I`m working hard these days because I`ve been writing my master`s thesis. I have probably told you I`ve been doing a master`s course in English philology ( I had BA in English and MA in History). I`m completing my third term now and there is one ahead. I`m going to have my final thesis exam at the beginning of July. Next year I`ll probably have World History through English with more advanced groups at my school.
Give my warmest regards to yr parents and Danielle,
Bye for now,
Adam
Dear Antonella and Nadya,
Happy Valentine`s Day!
You can download Saint Valentine`s worksheet for yr students if you would like to do a lesson about this holiday. The link is:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/newsenglish/britain/090210_nab_valentine.shtml
It`s in the top-right corner - Download Activities.
I`m going to use it tomorrow,
The recording in the music section on our project site accompanies this worksheet.
Warmest regards,
Adam
Dear Antonella, my students made PP presentations on "Genocides in the World." I'm thankful to Adam for this task. Do you think it's possible to add presentations to our pages. As far as texts go there are no problems but pictures (which are many) and pr-shns - I'm not sure...
Unfortunately, I can't watch the video "Let's call ...off". I'll try another computer. Thank you again.
And one more thing. I'd like to ask our students the question who "we" and "they"are for them. I have already asked mine. The answers... how to put it... sometimes make me feel uneasy. Especially "they"..What do you think?
Regards, Nadya
Dear Antonella, they are young and mostly express the thoughts which are not theirs. They are the reflection of adults' or mess media vision sometimes. Anyway, for us teachers it's a push to start talking and discussing these issues. I'm sorry people know so little about each other and,as a result, they are lead by stereotypes. This is another reason why I highly appriciate this site. As for the answers... I hope we'll have a chance to have a talk in Skype soon as my comp. is being repaired at the moment. I'm impatiently waiting for it to be back home.
Best regards, Nadya
Dear friends, we are really sorry to have heard about the dusaster and the victims who are 273 now according to the redio news. We hope that nature will be more merciful to stop ruining people's houses and lives.
Russian students.
Dear Antonella, thank you for the information. Congratulations! Have a nice and fruitful time there. I've already thought about the impossibility for me to go as far as Russia is not a member EU. But still I'll try to write to find out. Though I'm sure...
All right. I'm thinking about another session. Is it still possible? If yes, when?
Now I'll be trying to add pictures to "Now and Then.." You know, so much work has been launched with the work "around" the site. The students brought the picture of the war Voronezh where on the central square fashists are haning a person on the stretched out hand of the monument to Lenin. The st-s are enthusiastic about the performance we are making. They brought music, poetry (they've written some themselves). In case we manage to have a camp we could show it to you.
