Dear Adam,
I did not know you were so busy writing your thesis. My compliments..
So next year you will be doing CLIL (that is teaching a subject through English..). There has been much talking about CLIL in Italy recently, conferences and lectures have been organised to try and encourage CLIL teaching in our high schools...
Personally I think that the problem is the lack of teachers of other subjects who know English well enough to be able to teach their subject in English, with the help of an English teacher, of course.
You are the ideal teacher under this respect, because you have a degree in English and History.. and you can do the whole job by yourself!!!
We will speak again soon .
Kind regards,
Antonella

P.S. I am keeping my fingers crossed as far as the grant is concerned. I am not sure I will get it!!

Dear Adam, I've recently been looking through my papers and came across a letter sent to me by an American teacher of History. He is a very interesting and good person. I met him in America and Russia. When we were walking around Moscow he was crying every time he remembered the event connected with a certain historical place. I thought you might be interested to meet this person. He is interested in contacts. If you are interested I could write him about you. You might have much in common as well as to share. What do you think?
Best wishes, Nadya

Warmest regards,

Dear Adam,
I am looking forward to reading Mr Patterson's answers!!
I do hope he will have the time to put them soon, as I think that will enrichen our site a lot, and will make us all very proud of hosting a celebrity in this simple site.
I had not heard about Mr Patterson and his work before reading your note.
I have looked for information about him on the net and now I intend to buy one of his novels, which seem to be so interesting.

Dear Adam,
many months ago, on behalf of my colleague Anna, who teaches R.E., I'd asked some information about R.E. classes in Poland. With some delay... here's Anna's answer about the situation in Italy

R.E. is optional in Italy.
Students have three alternative options, if they choose not to take R.E. classes
1. revising other subjects, with the assistance of a teacher.
2. discussing ethical issues
3. leaving school earlier, or getting to school later.
What happens in our school usually?
The ones who have R.E. classes at the beginning or the end of the school day get to school one hour later, or leave school earlier.
When the R.E. class is in the 2nd, 3rd,4th or 5th hour, they choose to revise other subjects.
If a student chooses to take R.E. classes, what does he/she do?
Nearly all R.E. teachers in Italy are not priests or nuns, but lay people.
They focus on Catholicism in their classes, but they dedicate some time to studying other religions and creeds, or discussing ethical issues.
What qualifications does a R.E. teacher have to have? He/She has to have a degree in Religious Studies to be allowed to teach.

Kind regards,
Antonella

Hi Adam.
I hope you are well.
Could you by any chance send me the quality certificate your NA has issued (the link to it).
Thanks a lot and bye for now.
Antonella
