We have interviewed our parents and grandparents about their lives when they were our age. Here are their answers.

It's a continuation. I'm summarising my students' interviews. The deal is we first discussed and compared them, then pointed out similarities and particularirties.
So, what about disciplinary notes, mostly, yes (21).
A lot of homework? Sure. But today it's harder to study at school. (22)
What did you want to do when a child?
To become a cosmonaut, an actress, a doctor, a teacher ( these jobs were very popular then). But none of the 22 asked has realised his dream.
Sports? Played football mostly, velleyball, tennis, badminton, but not professionally.

Yes, parents really approved doing all sorts of sports.
The town was very clean, much cleaner than it's now. Perhaps less beautiful but it looked more cosy and home-like.
We listened to ABBA, Beatles and Russian popmusic. We also listened to classical music a lot.
We did go to the concerts ( we mean parents who were born after the war). We visited our city Concert Hall (which looked shabby and which still does). But grandparents mostly didn't. It wasn't in the culture of a provincial town which Voronezh used to be years back.
Life was kinder, full of joy, fun and friendship. The society wasn't as consumerized as it is now. Friendship was valued most of all, we did everything together: visited concerts and cinemas, theatres and clubs, sport matches or we went hiking and fishing together. We travelled a lot. It was affordable as it was much cheaper.
